What the connector does
Once connected, your AI assistant can search and read live MLS data on your behalf —
listings, property details, and market data — scoped to what your own MLS membership already
entitles you to see. It cannot see data outside that entitlement, and it cannot change anything
in your MLS.
Setting up the connector
Setup happens from your SourceRE account, under AI Connection. Sign in, pick
your assistant, and follow the steps shown there.
If you have trouble connecting, please visit our support page at app.sourcere.com/mcp-support for assistance.
Permissions and what your assistant sees
Your assistant can
- Send search requests to your MLS, when you ask it to
- Read listing and market data your MLS membership already entitles you to see
- Use that data inside the conversation
Your assistant cannot
- See your SourceRE password — sign-in happens on SourceRE’s own page
- See data outside your MLS membership entitlement
- Change, add, or delete anything in your MLS
Every response follows your MLS board’s display rules, including any limits on
redistributing data or on fields restricted to members. Data returned through the connector is
for your own use in serving clients, under the same MLS rules that already govern your other
access — you remain responsible for compliance with your participant agreement, including fair
housing rules, for anything you draft from it.
Disconnecting or revoking access
Disconnect from inside your AI assistant’s own connector or MCP settings — that stops it
from reaching your MLS data immediately and does not affect your SourceRE account. You can also
revoke or remove a connection from SourceRE under AI Connection.
Usage & examples
Ask in plain language. Your AI will work with SourceRE to find the best way of satisfying your request.
Common requests
-
Listing search
Find homes by city, ZIP, county, price, beds/baths, size, lot, property type, status,
and common features (pool, fireplace, garage, new construction). Sort by newest or price.
-
Comparable properties
Nearby or similar solds for a subject listing or criteria — distance, similarity, and
key listing fields, without a full valuation.
-
Comparative market analysis (CMA)
Ranked comps plus summary stats: median/average close price, price per square foot,
days on market, list-to-sale ratio, and an estimated value when the subject size is known.
-
Market trends
Prices, sales volume, inventory, days on market, and direction over months or quarters
for an area and property type.
-
Agent activity
Production for an agent — active and pending inventory, closed sides, volume, price
statistics, and recent listings.
-
Office / brokerage activity
The same kind of roll-up for an office: members, inventory, closings, volume, and
recent activity.
-
Custom lookups
When a request needs unusual filters or fields, the assistant can explore what your
feed exposes and run a tailored read — still limited to your entitlement, still read-only.
Example prompts
Show me active 3-bedroom homes in Albuquerque between $400k and $600k.
Everyday listing search: location, price, beds, and a feature or two.
Find comps for 123 Maple Street that closed in the last six months within a mile.
Comparable properties near a subject address or listing — solds first, ranked by similarity.
Build a CMA for listing 24001234. Use closed sales from the last 180 days.
Full comparative market analysis with summary stats and an estimated value band.
How have sale prices and days on market trended in 87104 over the past year?
Market direction for a city, ZIP, or county — volume, prices, inventory, DOM.
Summarize Jane Agent’s production over the last 12 months — listings, closings, and volume.
Agent activity: sides, volume, price stats, and recent listings.
How is Desert Realty’s office performing this year? Include active inventory and closed volume.
Brokerage / office roll-up across members and recent activity.
Suggestions for better answers
-
Be specific about place and time
Name a city, ZIP, county, or listing ID, and a lookback when it matters (“last 90 days,” “past year”). Vague geography or open-ended ranges produce weaker results.
-
Say what kind of answer you want
“Find comps,” “build a CMA,” “market trends,” “agent production,” or “search listings” steers the assistant toward the right kind of response. If you only need solds or only actives, say so.
-
One job per question
Search, then analyze, then draft for a client — in separate turns — usually beats a single prompt that tries to do everything at once.
FAQ
How can I be sure my AI is using SourceRE MCP?
When the connector is active, your assistant should show a visible SourceRE connection badge in the conversation — or whenever it’s communicating with SourceRE. If you’re unsure, just ask it whether it’s using SourceRE.
If I hit usage limits, when will they reset?
Usage is counted on a rolling 24-hour window, not a fixed calendar day. As older requests age out of that window, capacity frees up again — often gradually rather than all at once at midnight. Your SourceRE plan determines how many connector requests you can make in any 24-hour span.
Does connecting give my AI access to every MLS?
No. Access follows the MLS membership tied to your SourceRE account — the same entitlement you already have. The connector cannot reach boards or data outside that scope.
Can my AI change listings or other MLS records?
No. Through this connector the assistant can only search and read. It cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your MLS.
Do I need a different connection for each AI?
Yes — set up once per AI tool. Each has its own connector settings. Disconnecting one does not affect the others or your SourceRE account.
Is data from the connector okay to share with clients?
Data returned through the connector is for your own use in serving clients, under the same MLS rules that already govern your other access. You remain responsible for compliance with your participant agreement — including fair housing rules and any board limits on redistributing data or member-only fields — for anything you draft from it.
